Welcome! I'm Lino Coria, a computer science professor and AI educator at Northeastern University. I believe everyone deserves to understand and shape the technology that shapes their world.

I am an Associate Teaching Professor at Northeastern University's Khoury College of Computer Sciences (Vancouver campus) and Director of the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) Program. My work sits at the intersection of computer science education, computer vision research, and community building — with over twenty years of experience spanning both industry and academia.
My research focuses on image processing and computer vision, covering topics such as blind signal separation, digital watermarking, and 3D quality of experience. Lately, I've been exploring how generative AI can be used to enhance student learning — from automating assessment generation to building smarter educational tools.
Before moving into academia full-time, I worked as a research engineer at several Vancouver startups, developing computer vision and machine learning solutions for online video optimization, custom footwear design, and agricultural technology. I've also taught at ITESO University and CINVESTAV in Mexico, and at the University of British Columbia and Langara College in Canada.
Outside the classroom, I've volunteered since 2016 as a mentor to newcomers entering the tech sector through the Immigrant Employment Council of BC (IEC-BC), and I serve as a Trustee at the Port Moody Public Library.
